About our home

Our home is a stunning lofty pearl, with private leveled gardens and a spacious balcony hidden in and old school building in the middle of the lively Friedrichshain, Berlin. Within this popular neighborhood our maisonette offers a calm oasis amidst the cozy streets with restaurants, bars and shops. The architecture of the building is a typical example of socialist classicism, which can also be seen in the lengthy Frankfurter Alllee and Karl Marx Allee towards Alexanderplatz.

Our spacious living with large open kitchen that has all amenities including kitchen island. Via three double doors the space is connected to the grande balcony. The guest bathroom and a laundry room with washing machine are tucked away in the back of the apartment. And where the schoolyard use to be is currently a shared garden with trees, playground and benches where our kids spend their summers. Your kids can easily make new friends with the other kids that live in the building. You will share our home with your friendly cats who live partly inside and outside our home. They are used to kids, but are not so fond of dogs.

The open staircase leads you to a big open master bedroom in our souterrain with free standing bathtub for two, and walk-in rain shower. All provided with high-end dark chrome fittings. From the Kingsize bed you have a direct view onto the private garden. Behind the master bedroom is a spacious kids bedroom with the possibility for 2 to 3 beds. Also this room leads to one of the most hidden and smallest garden with swing. The perfect hide-out for kids!

The green garden (14 x 7 mtr) is on the south side with sun till 3PM. Optional you can fill a 3 x 2 mtr inflatable swimming pool on the green.

The Friedrichshain neighborhood is very child friendly, with playgrounds in abundance. Every Saturday you'll find an amazing market with bio fruits, vegetables, and other delicacies around the corner. On Sundays the same spot transfers into a typical Berlin flee market.
Friedrichshain is blessed with a lot of clubs, including the internationally famous Berghain, for which you just have to walk a straight line of 1 km.
Although the building is situated on a very quiet street, there are many bars and restaurants within a few minutes walking distance.
300 meters from our apartment you'll find Station Ostkreuz from which trains and s-bahn constantly depart to the city centre (Alexanderplatz 4 stops, Main Station 7 stops), or directly to Airport Schönefeld by train (12 minutes) or Sbahn (20 minutes). On walking distance 20 min or one train stop you are in Treptower Park along side the river Spree where meadows are endless.

Sightseeing is easy from our home. From our street we have a view on Berlins' icon the Fernsehturm. Traveling South from Ostkreuz you only go one stop with the magnifiscent U1 to the Berlin Wall (Warschauer Strasse) and two stops to Schlesischer Tor to enjoy the trendy restaurants and gritty Berlin nightlife of the popular Wrangelkiez and Oranienstrasse in Kreuzberg. Taking the U1 all the way will take you to Berlin West, Wittenbergplatz with KadeWe and Kurfurstendamm.
Traveling from Ostkreuz to city centre will take you a a couple of stops to Alexanderplatz, the famous Hackischer Markt in Mitte or further West-Berlin Zoologischer Garten and the cozy Savignyplatz.
Traveling North public transport is taking you to the pictoresk Prenzlauerberg, the cozy area filled with bars and restaurants.

And if you would like to discover the city by bike, make sure you rent a bike via Uber or use one of the many bike rental opportunities in our neighborhood. For sports you can stop by Holmes Place only 10 minutes walking distance or go for a run along side the river Spree on Stralauer Insel (5 min).
