We are heading to NY for a year from Berlin, and we are looking to swap our wonderfully bright, spacious, fully decked-out, and ideally-located Berlin apartment (for your NYC apartment) for the coming '16-'17 academic year: starting in mid-August through summer 2017 (dates flexible).
The apartment is located in the very heart of Berlin's Kreuzberg -- at the very nexus of the legendary neighborhood. One couldn't ask to be more centrally located (buses, subways, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, cafes, parks, jogging along the canal, etc.) It is a beautiful, altbau apartment (approx. 850 square feet / 78 qm) with a large living/dining room, bedroom, home-office/second guest room, and eat-in kitchen. The apartment has lovely wooden floors, high ceilings, is fully furnished, and comes equipped with wireless Internet, washing machine, e-piano, two sleeper couches for guests, and all the kitchen gadgets you could desire, etc. It is a great apartment: perfect location and also very quiet and peaceful; sunny in the front rooms and also shady and cool in the bedroom. If you are coming with children, there is also a back courtyard with a private playground.
We are a theater professor/director and a Latin/German teacher coming to NY for work (and to spend some time with friends & family). We are looking for a responsible, friendly, clean, and open person/people/family from NY who is looking to spend a comfortable and "homey" year in Berlin and would like also to welcome us into your home.
If you are interested, it would be great to connect to discuss details/possibilities/etc. And we can certainly send along pictures of the apartment upon your request. Thanks, and very much looking forward to hearing from you.
