About our home

Hi! We are a family from Berlin, Germany. We live with our three kids in a 110 square meter appartment. The flat is bright, there is a lot of sunlight and two balconies, facing to a calm street. Our style is kind of minimalist, because we enjoy the space and the light. However we are kind of relaxed with our stuff, so kids are welcome. There is one room suited for one or two small kids and a small one for older kids or young people. There is a large green courtyard that all the people in the house are allowed to use.

We would be happy to do a home exchange with relaxed and friendly people, we already did it a couple of times and had excellent experiences. We love the countryside, the sea, mountains, small towns.

More about us

  1. We, Daniel and Judith are psychologists both work for charities / Nonprofit organisations in Berlin and are easy- going persons (at least that is what we consider ourselves). We like: exploring places, small restaurants, alternative / sustainable places, city night life, hiking, canooing, cycling, cooking, nature. We have got three kids, all of them boys, 13, 10 and 5 years old.

  2. We have done allready three exchanges (two with a former flat) and it was always a wonderful experience.

Where is it?

Our appartment is located in Berlin-Neukoelln, a Berlin district which used to be one of the poorer areas of Berlin but turned "hip" in recent years. Tempelhofer park is next to our house. The area used to be a inner city airport which was then shut down a couple of years ago and turned into a recreational area. There are a lot of bars and small shops in the neighbourhood, and the Neukoelln population is a mix of turkish people, students and people from all over the world. Next ubahn (=tube) station is a ten minute's walk away and will connect you to all the other parts and attraction of berlin (for example to Berlin-Alexanderplatz it takes 10 minutes).

The street we live in is quite calm. There is a big garden in the middle of our yard with a fireplace, a small playground and a ping-pong table. Around the corner there is a public outdoor swimming pool. Berlin is surrounded by beautiful nature and many lakes. Our favorite lake can be reached by car in 40 minutes

We would be happy to compile some information about where to go, where to eat etc. for you.
