About our home

This light-filled and large apartment (100 m2 inside + 20m2 outdoor living) sits in the heart of Berlin's best and favored neighborhood Prenzlauerberg. It is located near prestigious Kollwitzplatz and close to the transport hub of Eberswalder Bahnhof. The neighbor is very-kid friendly and full of excellent restaurants and interesting shops. The urban (but quiet) apartment is on the top-floor of a turn-of-century building. The building has been modernised and has an elevator.

It has two bedrooms, a study (with sleep sofa and closable doors), two balconies (with BBQ and furniture in warmer months) a large combined kitchen, dining and living room, full bath, and a half-bath (with a washing machine). The kitchen is outfitted with all the amenities for cooks (and for those who like take-out, there is a microwave). It is bright and open with large double-glazed windows and high ceilings. There are wooden floors throughout. The furniture is eclectic and original, a mix of 1960s, 1970s and 1980s pieces.

Apartment is perfect for a family (we have baby gear if needed). We have a cat (Niceto) that is part of the apartment .

  1. We are an American couple living in Berlin with our 8-year-old daughter. We have done many exchanges and love the experience. We like to travel and are open to options. I work for a not-for-profit on internet issues and my wife works in digital media. We love the city and its unique architectural blend of old and new. The city has so much to explore, as well as the surrounding lakes and forests, which can be accessed by train (with bikes) in less than 30 minutes from your door.

Where is it?


Our apartment is only steps away are trendy cafes and one-of-a-kind stores. On our block alone is a great Italian restaurant. Beloved Kollwitzstrasse is steps away as well as the lovely Saturday market, full of regional farm products and bespoke wares. Two blocks away is a key tram line and the subway line (U2) and four blocks away is the largest organic super market in Europe. A great local park (with playground and picnicking areas) is a block away.

While being in the heart of urban living, the neighborhood is green and leafy, friendly and welcoming.
