We are a small happy family with polish-romanian origins, who live in a beautiful green site of Berlin called Lübars. Joanna (36) is a grafic designer, Dan (41) a journalist and Nicu (2 3/4) a lively kindergarten-boy.
We used to live in Berlin-Prenzlauer-Berg in a small flat for many years, but 1 1/2 years ago we moved to the northern part of this fascinating capital and bought this house. We've chosen this quieter part of town, because of our boy. Now he can visit the local horses or chickens after kindergarten.
Nevertheless, a good connection to the centre of Berlin was also a central criterion for us, because Dan works daily in Berlin-Kreuzberg. So in 20 minutes you can perfectly get to Berlin-Prenzlauer-Berg by local public transport, in 25 minutes you are at Berlin-Friedrichstraße.
Our lovely house (5 rooms on 115 square metres) is part of an 17-houses-ensemble built in 1982. We have plenty of space for at least 6 or 7 persons. The grandparents of Nicu visit us regularly and we all stay at our place without annoying each other.
Our spacy and light living room with the adjacent dining room are on the ground floor, so are the kitchen and a small bathroom. From the living room you can step out in the big common garden with a nice playground for children.
On the first floor, you'll find our bedroom with the walkable wardrobe, Nicu's room and a bigger bathroom.
On the top floor there are a cute small and a very big cosy room. These are normally the grandparents' places.
Lübars is a very green part of town. In only 2 minutes on foot you'll be at a beautiful lake, where you can go for a long walk, in 10 minute-distance there is another lake, which is used in the summer as a swimming pool.
This whole area called Tegeler Fließ is a huge nature reserve, with wooden footbridges and luxuriant plants and animals, where you can go on a hike or take a trip by bike for hours.
To cut a long story short, you'll be surprised, how close green spaces and metropolitan life can be.
