About our home
"Am Lokdepot" is an award-winning ensemble of 17 buildings and is located in the urban, post-industrial environment of the name-giving locomotive depot of the German Technical Museum. The house was built in 2015 and consists of 14 apartments.
The building is located directly at the entrance of the "Park am Gleisdreieck", which offers numerous leisure activities. "Am Lokdepot" is located near "Potsdamer Platz" and "Tempelhofer Feld". Subway and city train stations are less than 7 minutes walk away. Grocery stores are also in walking distance. The long distance cycle path "Leipzig-Berlin" runs directly in front of the house.
In the backyard of the house you find a garden with a big sandpit. In front of the house you have a big public playground.
From our apartment you even can see the West-Berlin town hall, where the most famous Berlin quotation "I am a Berliner" was announced.

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is in between Schoeneberg and Kreuzberg. It's not crowded like in many areas in Kreuzberg. It's more relaxed and family friendly.
The "Park am Gleisdreieck" starts directly here. It is located on a former railway area and was completed in 2013 and is now one of Berlin's most popular parks. Twice a year an old steam locomotive rides from the name-giving locomotive depot (located directly in front of our house) one mile through the park to the Technical Museum. From our building you can walk or ride a bike to Potsdamer Platz entirely through this park without passing one single street.
And in less with a 5 min walk you are in the romantic "Viktoriapark" with a small hill and a mountain waterfall. On the top of the hill stands a national monument where you have a great view.
