About our home

We offer a little, nicely renovated house with a lot of rooms that comfortably accomodates pairs to families. It has a sauna, a fairly large garden with a playground and direct access to the river Enz that runs through Bietigheim-Bissingen. Our house also offers a fireplace as well as an office with an Apple iMac and broadband Internet access via WLAN. The balcony overlooks the garden and the vineyards on the other side of the river. We spend a lot of time in the garden, e.g., barbecueing, and we often make boat trips in our own boat. In the summer, we also swim in the Enz, and make wood fires in our outdoor fireplace.

We also offer the possibility to stay in a small weekend flat in Bad Herrenalb near Baden-Baden in the Black Forest, and near to the French Border (Alsace).

More about us

  1. We, that is Eric and Heike with Aaron (10), Yavanna (8), Neo (3) and Zia (West Highland White Terrier). Eric is the President of a small software company (four people, four countries, two continents) and works from his home office. We lead an open and self-destined live, and are always open for what awaits us round the next corner. This is our first home exchange, and as Eric is free to work from wherever there is Internet access, we would like to stay in Canada for ten to twelve months, long enough for our children to learn how you live in Canada and learn the English language.

Where is it?

Our house is a two minutes walk to the historic town center with shops, restaurants, and bars, and one minute to the bus that directly brings you to the local train station. Leisure time is easily spent in the redesigned indoor pool as well as the outdoor pool with a 150m long slide. Ice Hockey fans attend the games of the local team "The Steelers" (2nd league!), or they go ice skading themselves. At Silvester, Bietigheim is also the home of Germany's most famous Silvester Run over 10km. In July, everyone enjoys the Best of Music festival.

The rapid train (S-Bahn) runs 25 minutes to Stuttgart city center that offers all attractions that one would expect a medium sized city (550.000 inhabitants): museums, theaters, mutiplex cinemas, public pools, the world's first public TV tower, and a huge city park. To Heidelberg it's about one hour, to the Black Forest one and a half hours. To Munich it's a two hours drive.

Our house is directly located at a travelled street, but expensive windows and a wooden fence make this unhearable from the inside or from the garden.
