“We really had a fantastic exchange! The house is large, very comfortable, warm and very clean. You can walk straight into the nature from the house. Beautiful forests and heaths in the area. Awesome. We walked every day in beautiful surroundings. Communication with Christian was excellent! Helpful and friendly. They left our house super neat and clean. As if no one had been there. Definitely a must to trade with this family!”

Christian's reviews
As a host (5)“We had an succesful exchange with this family in Buxtehude. The family have the most beautiful house in the nicest surroundings. Great big kitchen area, with plenty of space for the big family, we are 5 :-) Lots of good rooms, so the teenagers didn´t have to share. Christians dad recived us, and was very friendly and a great help. We also had good contact to the family before and during our stay. We enjoyed the city Buxtehude. Nice shopping, and great places to enjoy dinner or coffee. So sweet streets with a canal. We really liked the contryside only a short drive from Hamburg. Hamburg is great, we have been there before with big succes. We can really recommend this family and their home. Thanks for this exchange :-)”
“Very nice exchange and excellent interaction with Christian and family. The house is very confortable and everything was done to make us welcome. The neighbourhood is friendly and the region offers lots of diversity. A perfect place for a holiday!”
“We have had an simultaneous exchange with the family of Cristian in Buxtehude, Niedersachsen, near Hamburg. We spend a cosy time in their recently built house in a very quiet small part of Buxtehude. Through this swap we could extensively explore the borders of the river Elbe , north from Hamburg and we have met various friendly people of "das alte Land"-near Buxtehede. This was a too short stay of learning in this beautiful part of Germany, but we are very pleased to have that contact with the family of Christian M. Gerrit.”
“Home Exchange Buxtehude What a wonderful exchange we had in Germany. Housewise it was the best exchange up till now. Christian and Corinna have a beautiful, large and bright villa in a nice little village nearby Hamburg. We had a very warm welcome from the parents who live next to them. Christian’s father gave us a grand tour through the house and some tips to go to with the family. So if we had any questions, besides of the manual, the parents were nearby. Buxtehude is a little town in an area with typical north german houses (stone and wood in a typical format). The german villages are nice and nearby we visited the ‘altstadt’. There a lot of fruit farms and the nature is beautiful. The other day we visited Hamburg by public transport. We parked the car at the train station and took the train to city centre. Hamburg is a very beautiful German town with a mix of old cathedral, buildings and very new and hip area’s like the harbour. We noticed that people are very helpfull. While we were looking at our map, people came and asked if they could help you. Outside the house, the children played in the large garden with the trampoline and swing. The contact was nice and very friendly before the home swop. We also met them on our way back. And it was a nice and good to see eachother and exchange some experiences. After all. We can only say. Exchanging with Christian and Corrina and their little girls is wonderful. You’ll certainly have a good time in their house and in that part of Germany.”

We are a non-smoking family of five (Christian (45), working in the renewables business and being a mediator, Corinna (40), business coach and our two girls (8 and 6 years) and one boy (2 years); we like to be outdoors a lot, love to travel and to meet new people.
We care for the environment, our work-life-balance and have a strong affection towards sports (mountain biking, running, yoga and swimming).
So far, we have done six home exchanges with families from the Netherlands (Arnhem, Enkhuizen and Alkmaar), Denmark and Switzerland (Yverdon and Lucerne) and we just loved it. We are very keen on trying our next exchange! In 2016, we spent some fabulous time in New Zealand and are keen on getting to know a country we have not visited before. We can ensure that we will take utmost care of your home just as we do with our own.

Neighbourhood
our home is located about 4 km from the historical and fairytale city of Buxtehude (40.000 inhabitants). From Buxtehude you can get to the city centre of Hamburg by local train within 35-40 minutes. By car, it will take you about 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
our neighbourhood is rural (about 1.000 inhabitants), with horses and a local golf course in town. the landscape is ideal for biking and hiking, lots of opportunities (cultural, sports, sight seeing, nature, night life) in Hamburg.
there is a small farm shop ("Hofladen") within walking distance (3 min) from our house where you can buy fruits, eggs and vegetables twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays).
Local attractions, such as the "Lüneburger Heide", the "Altes Land" (one of the biggest fruit-growing regions in the world) and cities like Hamburg, Bremen and also Lübeck are within 30-75 minutes driving distance.
