Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Heidelberg are all within an hour of Darmstadt. Our flat combines the benefits of center-of-town life-style and easy access to rural countryside for outdoors activities such as biking and walking. From our small pretty neighbourhood it is a short walk to cafes and shops. Enjoy this first-floor flat with high ceilings and original art nouveau detailing in a very quiet neighbourhood, yet close to theatres, parks, small concerts, bars, - and even a big farm. If you want to see Germany overall, the north, the south, the newly done-up cities in the east, etc, then being bang in the middle, in Hessen, is the right place (the european space agency thought so, too, and is located here). Good transport links, even to Hamburg, Munich and Switzerland. Or, you can explore nature on the door step, Odenwald, or wine regions such as Rheingau, Rheinhessen, Nahe or Bergstrasse. We have our own small wine production, so if you could look after that, that would be great (joke). We have two parrots who will also vacate the property with us. Enjoy quiet afternoons in the flat; where hopping on your bike gets you to the forest in 15mins. The flat was renovated a few years ago, so despite being from 1900, it has a more modern feel. In addition to the main bathroom (with shower and bath), there's a guest bathroom. All windows have the original external blinds on them. Cross-country skiing or hiking in the black forest is less than 2 hours away. Job-hunting travellers to Germany might also appreciate being in the middle of the job-rich "Rhein-Main Area", and the chance to be in a city flat that even locals would find difficult to get hold of (when new arrivals would tend to find accommodation only in suburbs).
