About our home

We built our light-flooded home in this peaceful area with phantastic views in 1991. Since then, parts of the house have been renovated and redecorated. Our furniture is a mix of the old and the new and there are many original paintings everywhere. Our first floor has French windows in every room, opening up either to the balcony, or the terrace or the garden.
Adjoing to the open-plan kitchen with all modern amenities, there is the dining-room with a big table, sitting 8. Next is the living-room with a tiled stove, where you can sit cosily on a cold winter's day or, if you like to play music, you might want to use the the piano.
Upstairs you'll find the master bedroom (with marvellous view of the garden and the nearby forest) with its extra walk-in closet. Next to it is the cosy children's bedroom and then you come to the huge master bath-room with tub and seperate shower cabin. Both bedrooms have a hardwood oak floor, the bathroom is tiled.
There is another bedroom with Spanish pine furniture down in the basement with an ensuite bathroom.
Just have look at the photos....

More about us

  1. We are a family of three: Pauline, the youngest with 6 years, has started school recently and is the joy of our lives; Achim (just hit his 50s) runs and owns his own company, producing wooden packaging material for industrial shipment; Hilde (mid 40s) is a teacher in adult education.
We had our first houses swap with a nice family from England in June 2006 and loved it. Since travelling the world is what we like best when we don't have to work, we think that home exchange is a gorgeous way of making it a special experience.

Where is it?

We're living in a little village, surrounded by forests and fields amidst a hilly landscape. The next town is Montabaur, where the fast train will take you to Cologne or Frankfurt in half an hour only.
2 houses down the road, you will find very good friends of ours who have been happy to meet our house-swappers and help them with any need or share a nice glass of wine or dinner with them.
