Hi, this is the apt I rent here in Germany during my Master of Business Administration. Btw, I have the written approval from my landlord for hosting people from Couchsurfing, listing this property on the Airbnb, or proposing it to a home-swapper!
The apartment is a 1,5 room apartment (basically a one-room-apartment plus a walk-in wardrobe) at the third floor of a quiet condo next to the Marien-Kirche (an Orthodox church) in Friesenheim, a neighbourhood of Ludwigshafen. It comes with a king-size bed and 2 extra mattresses (and respective beddings) for occasional guests.
The kitchen comes with everything you need to cook and put up the table. No oven and no dishwasher.
The balcony is large enough to accommodate 2 people sitting or an open closed-lines.
I live here since last October and the neighbours have always shown up to be friendly and respectful of the other's privacy. A specific set of rules applies to whoever stays in the condo - basically about keeping it quiet and respect sleeping times, that sort of things, however I can forward you the whole list (in German, though) upon request.
I am an avid single traveller also active on the CouchSurfing since 2008 (200+ positive references)
I am currently doing a Master of Business Administration at Mannheim Business School, in Mannheim, Germany
I love travelling (77 countries visited) and I shared my previous apartment in Florence (Italy) city center with friends from 30+ different countries
The neighbourhood is a working-class one, but it is very well connected with Mannheim (12 mins by tram) and Heidelberg (30 mins by train) - Tram/bus connections in 1 min from the apt. From Mannheim train station you can catch a direct train to the main Frankfurt airport (FRA), or a Flixbus to any major destination in Germany and in Europe.
Living in Ludwigshafen is cheaper compared to Mannheim or Heidelberg. There is a supermarket, a park (Ebertpark), and a large gym open 24/7 in walking distances. Also small restaurants, low-key pubs and a beer garden are scattered in the area.
