About our home

Our beautiful, bright and spacious home was completed in 2011 with classic, cozy features and the latest in amenities. Filled with original artwork, and surrounded by two designer theme gardens, it has everything you need to feel right and home.

Enjoy a book in the cozy built-in window seat, soak in the afternoon sun in the Japanese garden, warm yourself with a glass of wine by the fireplace, engage in fascinating conversations over a delicious meal around the dining table, and treat yourself to an evening bath by candlelight. Yes you can enjoy all of it here in a stunning home just 18 minutes from the centre of lively and historical Munich.

More about us

  1. We're a couple with a small, very well behaved Westie named Magnus

  2. Stephen works as a marketing strategy consultant and Robert works in the publishing industry

  3. Our house is our home. It reflects our appreciation for classic lines, coziness and all of the very latest in amenities. When we're not travelling for work or for pleasure, our two gardens are our passion.

Where is it?

Just 20 minutes from central Munich, Gräfelfing is known as the garden city. Very green and made up predominantly of detached homes, it is a very comfortable place to live. A minute's walk from our home is a large green park that follows the river Würm. It's a wonderful place for a swim in summertime with clean water. The park is part of a green belt that runs all the way into Munich. Within a 6-minute walk from our home is Gräfelfing's Bahnhofstraße, our local high street that is lined with restaurants, cafés, grocers and other shops. Whatever you need you can find it there.

Buzzy restaurants
Lots of cozy restaurants in the area: Femerling, featuring fresh international cuisine is just a minute away and features a menu that is updated every few weeks; Grappabrenner is a solid choice for Italian; Sala Thai is tiny but well known as one of the best Thai restaurants in the area; Hermes is the place to go for Greek; Laurus features high-end Italian; P.S. is a wonderful beer garden
Cool bars
Try the Wilder Hirsch -- very cozy
Cozy cafés
Try Ihle on the Bahnhofstraße
Retail therapy
Central Munich is the best place to go -- try Maximillianstraße if you're looking for high-end
Bit of culture
Munich is full of cultural hotspots, hosting some of the finest art collections in Germany, a beautiful historic core and countless places to experience authentic Bavarian culture. The Residenz is the former estate of the Bavarian royal family; Schloss Nymphenburg is an elegant estate just a few kms away; and quaint Blutenburg Castle is even closer. And if you're here at the right time of year you can enjoy Munich's world-famous Oktoberfest or its many Christmas markets
Walks in the park
Munich's Englischer Garten is one of the world's biggest city parks and is a great place to wander and people-watch; closer to home is Passinger Stadt Park which is about 7 minutes away
Spot of exercise
Sportzentrum Martinsried is minutes away and has all the equipment you need to stay fit.
Day tripping
Bavaria is brimming with day trips. Some of our favourites: The Starnbergersee (Lake of Starnberg) is a 15-minute S-Bahn ride from Gräfelfing; Garmisch-Partnenkischen is about 70 minutes by car; Germany's highest peak, the Zugspitze is less than 90 minutes away as is the beautiful emerald green Eibsee; Other outings: Oberammergau, Ettal, Schloss Linderhof, Herrenchiemsee, Regensburg; Schliersee, Tegernsee -- the list goes on and on!
