About our home

Our house is comfortable and cozy with enough space for 4 people plus guests. When we bought the house 2 1/2 years ago we redid the two bathrooms and turned the small balcony into a sun-drenched beautiful office. We often have friends and family over who also enjoy our hottub in the garden that can be used year-round. There is one king-size bed in the parents' bedroom, two twin loft beds in the kids room, one twin bed in the guest room, and one queen-size futon on the play-attic (also good for guests). We have a piano.

More about us

  1. Ina is a mathematician who works as a book acquisitions editor for the American Mathematical Society. Til is a cartoonist who works for the German magazine, STERN. We both work from home. Emely is seven and goes to 2nd grade and Harriet is 6 and will enter 1st grade soon. We want to spend our summer vacation in or around Montclair, or Providence, since we can combine work and vacation that way. We did it last summer and it was great.

Neighbourhood

We have wonderful neighbors also with young kids. Our four gardens are all openly connected and the kids are welcome everywhere. You can also walk to a playground. From our house you can walk in 5 minutes to the S-Bahn that takes you right into Hamburg's city center. The city, University, airport, main trainstation can all be reached via public transportation within 30 minutes. It's only a 90-minute train ride to Berlin. Hamburg is a beautiful city with lots of trees and water. We moved two years ago to Hamburg from the States and have truly fallen in love with this city!
