Wecome to stay in one of Germany's most romantic cities and enjoy staying in an authentic Jugendstil house close to the town centre.
The apartment we offer for exchange is spacious - it is spread over 2 floors (3rd. floor plus the attic - in the picture it is on the top floor of the left half of the house). It was built in 1904 and we renovated the complete place some years ago. All modern facilities are available. The house is located in the Weststadt which is one of the nicest areas of Heidelberg. The city center and the main sights are all within walking distance.
Please note:
Three of the rooms, one bathroom and a small kitchen are in the upper part of the apartment - so we can also accommodate 2-3 persons while we are at home (for a non-simultanious exchange).

We have a lovely cat (called Nera - because she's black) who is part of our family since almost 15 years - she is an "indoor" cat, i.e. she will be here when visitors come - and we are sure you will enjoy playing with her.
Our names are Jutta and Albert and we are a partly-retired couple, 62 and 63 years old. We are both teachers but the last 25 years we have worked as dylexic therapists in our own private institute. Since last year we have reduced our professional activities and we have more time for travelling. We have been to North- and South America and Asia, but most of our last trips (especially with our children) were within Europe. With "Home for Exchange" we hope to see more of the world and meet people from different countries - near by or far away.
We are a family of five - we have three daughters aged 20-23-25. Since our daughters are out of the house they have started to travel independently with their friends or family. Therefore we mostly travel alone (and there is space in our house for non-simultanious exchanges).
Apart from travelling we like visiting interesting places and cities. We also like swimming, bicycling and hiking, visiting museums, reading books and watching films and we always enjoy meeting friendly people.
We think that we are openminded and respectful people. We respect the way of life and the property of people we exchange houses with - just like we and our home would like to be respected.
The part of town in which our house is located (Weststadt) is one of the oldest parts of Heidelberg. Most houses are over 100 years old and were carefully renovated during the last 20 years. It is a quiet neighborhood but all main stores like supermarket, bakery, grocery are around the corner and some nice restaurants are there as well.
It takes about 10-15 min. to walk to the city center, there is also a bus stop around the corner. You don`t really need a car within Heidelberg - most attractions can easyly be reached on foot. If you wish you can use our bicycles.
Heidelberg is known for its romantic flair - it is a great place for old and young people. The Altstadt (historic center) is well known for its great nightlife.
Heidelberg is also an ideal location to do excursions - within 1-1,5 hour you can be in France or the Black Forest - Switzerland is only 2-2,5 hours away. To/From Frankfurt airport it take about 1 hour to get to Heidelberg.
