About our home

My name is Christin. Hello Home-Swappers!

I share an appartment with 3 on the 3rd floor of an old building from the beginning 1900s. We have wooden floors, high ceilings with stucco, big windows and lots of light.

The bathroom has a bathtub with integrated shower and our kitchen is a real living place with a couch and everything one could need for a good cook in.

My room itself has about 20 sqm , two big windows, a queensize bed and an extra matress, so it sleeps up to three.

I also have a mini library of books in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German of course.

And the room is guarded by a writers spirits, since that is my calling.

Although it might be a bit unusual to change a house or appartment for just a room, it is all I have to offer: a neat place that welcomes you to stay.

(And if swapping might not be an option for you until I move to my own appartment by the end of the year, maybe you let me surf your floor or couch.)

Leipzig is a city of about 500 000 inhabitants in the middle of Germany, with lots of culture, art (with have an Academy for Design and Arts as well as a Writing Institute, a University, many libraries, colleges, museums and many many galleries to explore), sights and creative spirit.
It was in Leipzig where Johann Sebastian Bach composed his music, Goethe used to walk the streets here and wrote big pieces of his main work Faust while studying at the University, philosophers met to discuss and roam in the deep seas of knowledge and mankind. Leipzig has its own spirit, is very sunny and fun to discover if you would like to go a little bit slower for once.

Berlin is about 1 hour by train and 2 hours by car. You reach Chemnitz, Dresden,Halle and Dessau in one hour by car, Erfurt, Jena and Weimar are only 2 hours away.

There is sure a lot of things I missed to mention, but if you are interested in further information, do not hesitate to ask.

I am 26 of age and a student of Portuguese and Spanish Philology as well as Comparative Literature (MA). And as I already mentioned, I am a writer by nature.

This , plus my never ending curiosity, is what makes travelling one of my passions (besides literature, art, photography, music, long walks and the mighty ocean). The dialogue between people, cultures and the perspective of growing together not only fascinate me but are one of my life's focusses.

Besides University I am self employed as a writer, translator, editor and eventassistant to effort not only my living but my life-wandering as well.

I am a couchsurfer/host, experienced car pool user and exchanging homes just feels like the next step in line.

If you want to know more about me as a guest, feel free to visit my couchsurfing profile:

If you want to know more about myself as a person, feel free to visit my space:

And thanks for spending some of your time to me.
