About our home

*Please note, we're ideally looking for swaps in London*

Hello and welcome to our beautiful home in Bavaria! We've spent the last few years putting a lot of love into this idyllic space, which has spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, special amenities, and space, warmth and peace. It's the perfect base for a skiing, hiking, cycling and lake swimming holiday. There's also very easy access to restaurants, shops, and world famous sight seeing spots.

Inside the flat, you'll find underfloor heating which keeps it super cosy in the winter, a standalone bath tub with a view of the Allgäu Alps and the night sky and a rainfall shower. There's one double room with a walk-in wardrobe, and a big sofa bed in the lounge for two people with access to an extra bathroom (toilet and sink). We've got a large screen TV (including Netflix), Xbox, vinyl player and sound system. The kitchen is brand new, with a fridge/freezer, coffee machine, oven, hob, all the other amenities you'd expect to find and lots more. There's a dining room with a table that can fit up to eight guests and a desk in the corner.

There's tonnes of space in the flat and the main areas are open-plan. Bedding, towels, crockery and kitchen basics are all provided. We spend time here throughout the year so you will be surrounded by some of our things, which, if you use, we just ask that you take good care of. There's a garden outside the flat where you can sometimes spot some deer. The flat is part of a building of other homes that used to be a spa, which is where all our windows originated. When we bought the flat it was a shell, and we've put a lot of investment into making it into the space you see today. Which is why we ask that you enjoy it but look after it too. Some of the surrounding flats are holiday homes and we don't really hear much activity from our neighbours — it's generally a quiet and peaceful area.

The flat is located on the 'sunny hill' of a district called Pfronten on the Northern edge of the Allgäu Alps. There's around 8,000 inhabitants in the area and a few supermarkets, restaurants, an Irish pub and many traditional Bavarian style beer houses which also serve local wine and schnapps. Fussen, which has the world-famous fairytale castles of Bavarian King Ludwig II Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, is a bus ride or short drive away. If you're feeling active, you could also cycle and walk there. The nearest ski lift is a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive for Breitenbergbahn and there are lots of others in the surrounding area. If hiking is your thing, you'll be spoilt for choice. Austria and Switzerland are also on the doorstep.

A train station is within a 10 minute walk of the flat (Pfronten-Reid) which takes you to many surrounding areas, including the closest city of Kempten, as well as Munich, Munich airport and Memmingen airport.
