“Rouven and Katerina were delightful to deal with from start to finish. Their lovely apartment is perfectly situated to explore Berlin, by bike, by foot or public transport. We had four wonderful nights and departed with fantastic memories. ”
Rouven's reviewsAs a host (3)
“We had good communication from the start. This is crucial to a successful swap. So it was much appreciated. It has a great link to schoenfield airport. The S9 train goes straight from airport then it's a 5 min walk from the station. The area is full of cafes and playgrounds for kids. It's a really pleasant area and felt welcoming. It's transport links are great and we were able to walk to some of the places that we wanted to visit. The apartment has lots of light wells that flood light into the space. We were blessed with a Sunny weekend so could enjoy a drink on the terrace and breakfast in the morning. The apartment is much bigger than the photos show. It has a really nice feeling about it and we instantly relaxed. Thank you to you and your girls for letting us experience Berlin for the first time. We loved it.”
“Beautiful, spacious apartment , Fabulous location , city, and terrific hosts ! Highly recommend you to go there!”
Where is it?
Our sun-filled penthouse apartment is located in the trendy district Mitte, just ten walking minutes from the Museumsinsel. You will find yourself very near the Friedrichstraße with its famous shopping oppurtunities, it leads you down to Gendarmenmarkt. There are plenty of bars, cafés, bistros, health-food stores, supermarkets, delis nearby - anything your heart desires. Theatres, museums, galleries and bookstores. Those who bring children will find playgrounds and parks within walking distance. Tram and train stations are within 5 min.
There is an inside swimming pool just across the street, and an opportunity for climbing or playing beach volley ball very near our apartment and in many parks you can play table tennis. Bikes are for rent all over the place - either on a per-day or on a per-ride basis.
This side of the Friedrichstraße is full of little boutique stores and buildings with hidden yards, for which Berlin is famous for. You could walk through Heckmannhöfe for example, then passing the Synagoge, take a peak into the Kunsthof (art yard) and then cross the street into the Monbijou Park right to the Bode Museum which is the east spot of the Museumsinsel. Most people stop at the Spree and take in the view, watch the passing boats and maybe have a drink and relax in the cozy seats of the "strand bar" of the Spree. Maybe you stroll by one evening and find several people dancing Charleston - this is Berlin pure.
