About our home

Our house (100 sqm) is part of an only recently refurbished old farm. Together with other families, we have transformed the old farm into a small village. It is situated right at the river Havel, which is more like a lake where the farm is located. A forest is part of the property that totals 45,000 sqm. A horse-farm is 100m away. We can see the horses from our living-room.

The house is ideally located not only for discovering the countryside around Berlin in Brandenburg, such as the world-heritage of Potsdam (only 25 km away or 10 minutes on the train), but also for day-trips to Berlin. The regional train takes you to Berlin's main station in only 30 minutes. Alternatively, you could also divide your time between our spacius apparment in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg (also advertised here) and our house in the country side (as the French familiy with which exchanged houses last year did). Non-silmultaneous exchanges are also possible.

Our house, which is part of the old horse-shed, now has all the necessary modern equipment, yet at the same time feels as if its 100 years old (when the farm was originally built). It has wooden floor both downstairs and upstairs, art deco-sytle tiles in the bathrooms and the kitchen-area and old brick-walls. The cealing upstairs is almost 4.5 meters high.

The location is perfect for swimming in the Havel, cycling and walking along the river or hiking. Other than visiting Berlin and Potsdam, Dresden and Hamburg are only 2 1/2 hrs away, Prague is also only 4 1/2 hrs by train and beautiful Posen in Poland only 3 hours, too!

We could also exchange cars. You could also use our bikes.

More about us

We're a family with two children and experienced exchangers. Since 2015, we have had seven succesful and wonderful exchanges with French and Italian families. We would treat your home with as much care as our own house.
