About our home

The "Blue Mansion" was once owned by a famous board game inventor and has more than 4000 sqft. We share the house with another nice family who lives on the third floor.
"Our space" consists of the complete 2nd floor with rooms: 4bdrooms, 1,5 livingrooms, a dressing room and a master bathroom. The spacious kitchen is on the first floor and can easily sit 8 people. Also on the ground floor is a big Yoga (also see: www.yoga-blaue-villa-prien.de) and Music Salon which we share with the other people in the house.
Furthermore a dining room with two single beds and a terrace facing East and another guestroom which sleeps two. There is also a shower bathroom and extra toilet on the ground floor.
The garden is enormous and has about 50.000 sqft with a nice view towards the mountains and a trampolin. The house is situated in an older part of a small Bavarian village, next to a main street but protected against street noise by a long garden wall, a tall hedge and many high trees.
The village named Prien lies in an area called "Chiemgau" and is situated at the beautiful lake Chiemsee, just north of the Alps. The lake is home to the magnificent "Women's island" with an ancient cloister dating back to the eighth century and the famous "Gentlemen's Island" with the fairy tale Castle "Herrenchiemsee" which is a copy of Versailles and was built by the Bavarian King Ludwig III. The lake is also a wonderful spot for swimming, sailing and windsurfing in summer, surrounded by beautiful beaches and beergardens and the mountain scenery. Within twenty minutes you can also reach the beautiful mountains for hiking and skiing.
Prien lies in the middle between Salzburg and Munich, each only an hour away by train or car. It is the perfect place where you can enjoy the wonderful landscape and the friendly Bavarian way of living.
The house is old-fashioned and full of antique furniture and unique decoration. In some respect it is also antique in its facilities which are well maintained, but might however look a little old to you, but it definitely has its charm and everything is well-functioning. We certainly love our house and would love to offer it to travellers who can appreciate a home like ours. You would have our space to yourself when we travel or we can have up to five guests when at home.
