Where is it?
Strasslach is among Munich's poshest suburbs, yet it is very quiet and leafy. Our street is quiet, the neighbors are families and retired actors, footballers, musicians and business owners. While the suburb of Grünwald to the North is home to Munich's "old money", Strasslach is more of an affluent younger and more international group of residents, with the houses being newer and more children around than in Grünwald. The suburb is set on gently sloping hills and has a traditional rural feel about it, with many traditional houses and old farms, on nice days the view goes all the way to the snow-capped mountains in the Alps. Bad Tölz is 30 minutes to the south, Munich city center is 20 minutes to the north. Public transport is nearby, the metro to the city center only takes 15 minutes. Strasslach has a bakery, supermarkets, pharmacy, bank and a post office. The prestigious Munich Golf Club is 700 metres down the road from our house. Many cycling tracks along the Isar river, either north into the city, south towards the mountains or west towards the Munich lakes run along our house. Ample equestrian facilities and horse riding facilities are also directly nearby. Neuschwanstein castle is an hour by car. Uncountable activities in the mountains, on the river and the lakes are within reach. Most important for a location in Bavaria - some of the finest typical Bavarian beergardens are located in the close vicinity and can easily reached by bike or a leisurely walk across green pastures.
