About our home

Our home is just a few steps from the river Inn and a ten minute walk along the river to the historic town of Wasserburg. It is a convenient, new and modern house. It has an open kitchen with a large dining room. The living room is a nice, very brightly place to be. The master bedroom has a large bed (2mx2m). The children's rooms are equipped for infants up to four or five years. (Bed, Baby change, Many toys and books!). One room is actually used for a baby and the other room is used by a four year old boy. The babys room also has a spare bed (1,40mx2m), so it may also be used by two elder kids or adults. If it may will be used by adults, we will prepair this room for the exchange. In 2020 there will be a construction site on the other site of our street. A school building is going to be build/eg. going to be renovated. But we do not think that it will affect your stay very much, on the other hand we do not want to leave it unmentioned. Please ask us, if you have any questions about our house, Wasserburg or the region.

You can also spend your time on the terrace, do a barbecue. Or you take a very nice walk along the river into the old city center of Wasserburg. There you can go shopping, have a coffee or a drink and go to one of the many good restaurants.

More about us

  1. We are Ines (40, working in the administration of an university), Matthias (44, city-archivist/keeper of the archives) with two little boys (1-2 and 5, when travelling in 2020). We like to travel and we like the idea of home exchange very much to discover new places and be a little nearer to the people in foreign countries. We made four really good exchanges between 2010-2013 and paused 2014/2015 for exploring Vietnam by train and awaiting our first child. We continued with six superb home-exchanges in France and Ireland in summer 2016, Barcelona in June 2017, Alkmaar in 2018, Perpignan and Aix en Provence 2019..

Doing a parental leave we are searching a minimum of two weeks exchange(s) in August and September 2020. We are also open for a long term exchange beginning in August/September 2020.

Because of being allergic to pets we cannot go to houses with pets. (And you can`t bring pets to our home). We'll be pleased to receive your messages! By getting in e-mail contact we will try to facilitate your stay in Bayern and Wasserburg as much as we can. Of course we guarantee to look after your home as if it's our own.

Where is it?

Wasserburg is a lovely town and very friendly so you may get in contact with people here easily. Our house is also ideally located as a touring base in the south-east of bavaria. It's in a very friendly neighbourhood near to the historic town of Wasserburg am Inn in walking distance: A first glimpse of the town impresses immediately. Almost an island, practically surrounded by the river Inn Wasserburg appears quite extraordinary. On entering the town, the visitor has the feeling of entering a fairy tale world. A town with pastel coloured walls, archways and battlements, a gateway and mighty fortress. The old part of town with its colourful gothic houses pulsates with life and when the street cafés overflow, locals and visitors just meet together under the arcades to shop, celebrate or chat in its narrow streets. The almost completely preserved medieval old town of Wasserburg is altogether, a first class attraction. The rural landscape around Wasserburg is a paradise for nature lovers, whether on foot or by bicycle. Numerous footpaths and cycle ways criss-cross the valley floor of the Inn and the moraines and hills of the Bavarian "Alpenvorlandes" with its many magnificent views. www.wasserburg.de
