About our home

My home is situated in the mountain village of Anidri , 5km from the coastal town of Paleochora in S.W Crete.
The house is south facing with a view to the mountains and the sea; it is is a spacious open plan design on one floor with terrace and bedroom balcony with comfortable sitting areas and a sociable bar/kitchen space.


More about us

  1. I am Irish , in my mid fifties mostly travelling alone for work and research purposes

  2. I run an Altruistc Start-up Training School giving training courses in Ireland and mountain retreats in Crete.

  3. I love nature especially Mountains and the coast and the location of my home in Crete reflects this

Where is it?


Nestled in the mountains overlooking the sea this mountain refuge is a 5 min walk from the village of Anidri and it's beautiful traditional School House Cafeneon at the entrance to Anidri gorge. It is 5km from the coastal town of Paleochora in S.W Crete and 1.5hrs from the Venetian port city of Chania.

Buzzy restaurants
From April to October the restaurants in the main streets, side streets and on the stony beach promenade are enjoyable, friendly , lively and all with a relaxed atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. In the winter season there are excellent traditional Greek restaurants and gorgeous bakeries open.
Cool bars
The cool bars are all centrally located at the small confluence of roads that connect the stony beach side to the Sandy beach with even cooler bars on the side streets inbetween
Cozy cafés
Great cost cafes on the waterfront and the school house in Anidri
Retail therapy
Stylish and characterful shops with clothes, local produce, jewellery ect
Bit of culture
Live music both traditional and folk and a world short film festival
Walks in the park
This area is meant for walking on the shoreline on the E4 to the next coastal village, up and down gorges, visiting the waterfall and cool pool in Azogires
Spot of exercise
All the walking, swimming and cycling as well as Archery
Day tripping
On the Ferry to Elafonisi, loud to and beyond
