About our home

Our Greek village home, we call "Mermaid's Cottage," is located on Lesbos Island, Greece, in the Molyvos /Vafeios area of the island. The property is in the quiet village of Vafeios, and it is on the high road overlooking the village. Our private, walled-in compound contains the main house (with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge), guest cottage (with second bedroom and bathroom), and secluded courtyard that is shaded under a grape arbor.

Situated on the western slope of Mt. Lepetymnos, the property also has a wonderul roof-top terrace that is great for sunning, entertaining and enjoying beautiful views of the Aegean Sea. It is just a short distance to beaches, shops and best restaurants on the island. Discover lots of historic sites, walking trails, and other local entertainment for you and your whole family to explore.

Historic Footnote: The Island of Lesbos was settled by an ancient tribe known as the Aeolians. This tribe of people was led by King Lesbos. The word Mithymna is the ancient name for the village of Molyvos, and it was the name of one of King Lesbos's daughters. King Lesbos's other two daughters were named Eressos and Mytilene, which are now the names of two other towns on the island.
