About our home

This is our vacation home located three hours from Guatemala City in the beautiful Lake Atitlan basin. Overlooking the lake and the picturesque Mayan Indian village of Santa Catarina Palopo, the home was custom designed and built in 2004. It has three large, airy bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a tv/media room, and a large living/dining/open kitchen area that opens to a pool deck overlooking the lake. The pool area has a beautiful outdoor sitting area in front of a fireplace and outdoor kitchen with a grill and wood fired oven. The infinity pool is heated and overlooks the lake and gardens, which are filled with lemon trees, rosemary bushes and flowers. A separate herb garden ensures fresh ingredients for great cooking in the large, open gourmet kitchen.
The house is a short walk from the famed Casa Palopo hotel and spa, and is within a ten minute drive to Panajachel, the main tourist town on the lake. It is a perfect base from which to explore the fourteen Mayan villages and archaeological sites that surround the lake as well as the beautiful and exotic market town of Chichicastenango.
A private boat and driver can be made available.
Housekeeper and caretaker live on the property and daily cleaning and laundry can be included. We can stock the bar, kitchen and fridge at your request.
