Where is it?

Our house is a 25 minute walk or a 10 minute tuctuc drive to touristic San Marcos La Laguna where you will find nice restaurants on the water, or acticities like jumping of rocks or just sitting on rocks to enjoy the lake. There are also a lot of retreat and selfgrowth centers where you can join for just a class or course.

Straight down from our house you have Hostal Maya Moon Lodge who offers their nice lakeside restaurant, hammocks and (stone)beach where children can play in the lake with floatable toys. You can go paddle-boarding or kayakking or go on a daytrip in a boat around the small Maya Villages. There is a nice second-hand fabric market every Tues,- and Friday in Panajachel (40 minute boatride). Also in Pana is a beautiful botanical garden and naturepark with ziplines. You can take Guatemalan cooking, - or painting classes or go on a hike to see the sunrise above the lake.

Also nice is to take a trip with 1 night to Las Aguas Georginas. This is a 2 hour drive to natural hotsprings in the mountains (cold!). Or visit
Guatemala's second capital Xela for 1 day and 1 night. We can tell you a lot about this small, but very pleasant city as well.
