About our home

Holiday home with a difference - a houseboat in Hong Kong! On an island 25 minutes by ferry to Hong Kong Central and 20 minutes by bus to Disneyland. Built in 2013, our 60' liveaboard junk is resort style living in Hong Kong. We have all modern amenities onboard, including dishwasher, washer/dryer, broadband internet, coffee machine and reverse cycle air conditioning throughout - your stay on our boat will be an unique experience. Genshai has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and can sleep up to 6 persons. With a balcony at the rear of the boat and a top deck with rotisserie bbq, Genshai is a fantastic entertaining spot, with views from the top deck to Hong Kong and the Disneyland fireworks at night.

Where is it?

Our boat is in one of the world's largest marinas in Discovery Bay, a small expat community on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. This lovely quiet Bay has a population of only 20,000, with a 50/50 mix of local and international residents. Discovery Bay has four private clubs, with access for visitors to dine and use most facilities. There is also the world famous 27 hole Discovery Bay Golf Club which welcomes casual players. Within the vicinity are several smaller islands reached by ferry offering the visitor a glimpse of how the local Hong Kong Chinese live. A 25 minute ferry ride to Hong Kong Central and only a 20 minute bus ride to Disneyland, Discovery Bay is perfect for a family holiday, close enough for commuting to Hong Kong and far enough away from the hussle and bussle. Hong Kong is a mecca for shopaholics, with a wide range from designer seconds to the real thing. There is a fantastic night life and bar scene in Hong Kong, and many, many fantastic restaurants to cater for all tastes. Hong Kong is truly an exciting holiday destination with something to offer everyone and every age.
