About our home

We are a family with two girls in primary school and have been living in this home for 8 years. In a city full of high-rise blocks, it's a 4-storey building where we occupy the top 2 floors. It feels like the nearest thing Hong Kong has to a "real house" - with split levels and stairs. We also have a rooftop garden with a trampoline (with safety netting) which the kids love. Stunning views of the sea towards Hong Kong Island from the living room and master bedroom, and towards the mountain from the kitchen/dining room and back bedrooms. Balconies adjoining the master bedroom and living room. Kitchen and dining room is open plan which makes the kitchen much more spacious than most Hong Kong kitchens.

Discovery Bay is an expat enclave for a reason - much more open space, greenery and relaxed vibe than the rest of Hong Kong. It's a relaxing place to go for a quiet stroll, because private motor vehicles (except golf carts) are prohibited. Most people get around by buses which are twinned with all the ferries heading towards downtown Hong Kong. The ferry takes half an hour and is a highlight in itself for the views and avoidance of traffic jams. Other highlights of Discovery Bay are the fantastic hiking trails into the mountains, and the outdoor cafes and restaurants overlooking the beach. It's only half an hour from the airport via a bus that departs every half an hour.
