About our home

This newly renovated spacious 65sqm exquisite designer loft apartment is perfect for the independent travellers/ digital nomads who'd like a good pamper. The apartment is in a historic monument building "Pekary House" built in 1898, nestled right on the capillary of heart of city between district VI & VII. Minutes walk to Opera House at Andrassy Avenue, the Octagon, and the colourful ruin bars of Jewish quarters. Your vacation home in Budapest can't get any better than this.

Located in the heart of Budapest between district VI & VII, this early 19th century monument listed Neo-Gothic building is richly detailed with classic ornate elements and an interesting history. Dubbed “The Pekary House,” it was designed by architect Brein Ferenc for a prominent citizen and later served as a center in the famous Jewish quarter of the Kiraly neighborhood. Set within the city’s Pest district just a short walk from the left bank of the Danube, you are within minutes of the Opera House at Andrassy Avenue, the Octagon, and the colorful ruin bars, shops and restaurants. Tucked away at the quiet interior courtyard, the apartment has been thoroughly transformed from its romantic neo-classical origins into a stylish loft space designed as both a holiday and creative retreat. Awash in white and natural light, the apartment is airy and fresh with soaring ceilings and original rustic wood and parquet floors that form the backdrop for the very modern renovation.

The eclectic and tasteful decor and design details were fashioned by exquisitely from us to you - as Singapore-Swedish stylist ourselves with vintage classics paired with modern pieces imported from Italy. The living room is warm and welcoming and shares the lower level with a custom-made open concept kitchen and bar while the double bedroom is a serene and simple space to sleep.

Up the steel spiral steps is a loft space where you’ll find a specially designed hideaway with sleeping space for one additional guest and a groovy built-in hammock for chilling out by the large windows on cozy afternoons.

Wifi throughout with optional 3G mobile/pocket wifi for your complimentary use in the city, cable TV, books and essential Budapest travel guides with digital interactive guide about the apartment and the neighbourhood. Kitchen and luxury bath essentials. Laundry facilities.

A city of stunning romantic beauty, Budapest is divided into two distinct sections: the hilly Buda and Old Town district, and the flat Pest district bisected by the Danube and connected by the Chain Bridge. Further divided into twenty three ever widening neighborhoods, the apartment is located in the heart of the city between district VI and VII anchored at the intersection of the famous Kiraly street and “Budapest’s Broadway” Nagymező street. Perpendicular to Andrássy Avenue, the street is lined with theaters, clubs, and restaurants, and frequented by a colorful crowd. The restored elegance is everywhere, with neo-classical, Barque and Art Nouveau architecture and romantic bridges across the river. You’re within walking distance of all the main left bank sights, including the now famous “ruined pubs.” Located throughout the 7th district in the old Jewish quarter, these underground bars in the ruins of abandoned buildings are part of a unique nightlife. Left in ruins after WW2, the area is now a vibrant and fascinating part of the culture as are the many thermal baths the city is famous for. Grab the funicular for a ride up Castle Hill to the Old Town with the remnants of Roman and medieval eras and sweeping views of the city.
This is a great apartment for couples, business travellers and digital nomads who require front-door access to the Budapest city core. The flat is also only a 5 minute walk from Budapest's metro hub, Deák Ferenc tér.

Some books and essential Budapest travel guides will be at your perusal for some city exploration research. Above the herringbone wooden tiles, a Pakistani Kelim rug tucked underneath a 60s designer oakwood coffee table, made cozy for your stay in TV evenings.

Designed exquisitely with industrial black steel, the spiral steps leads to the little surprise the upper deck of loft has to offer. A specially designed built-in hammock will bring the child in all adults where you would want to chill in and hideaway with your books by the large window during those lazy, cozy afternoons. This is where the extra mattress is for the third traveling companion or child, or just yourselves another cozy corner for some tumbling around.
