About our home

On the edge of the Jewish district in the centre of Budapest, this 95 Sq m flat is in walking distance of all the main sites.
The cranky old lift takes you up to the 3rd floor of this imposing 19th Century block of flats.
Since buying the flat 15 years ago the VI district has become the ruin bar district of town. Its buzzy and vibrant and perhaps in the summer months, too much for people looking for a quiet break.
We have a noisy bar and a couple of gastropubs ourselves so we love being in the thick of it when we are away. There are so many great places to eat and drink within 500 m that you won't need a cab during your stay.
We bought the flat before we had kids and the flat reflects that. The bedroom is vast and leads onto the large living room and straight into the bathroom. The kids room is tiny. Its a converted laundry room and the bunk beds wouldn't fit a person over 150cm!

More about us

  1. I'm British and my wife is Hungarian. We’ve been married 20 years and have 2 multi lingual kids (11 and 8)
We love eating, cooking and drinking and try to pretend Brexit never happened.

  2. Gabi used to work in fashion but now helps Michael run 3 east London pubs

  3. We love friends and family and big noisy lunches. Our ram shackle house & garden suits that perfectly.
