About our home

AVAILABLE in JULY &AUGUST- we would be happy to welcome you at our second home. We don't need a car here- you can just walk to sights or use public transport. Corona index is low in Budapest but restrictions are still in place- status 1st June.

Check out our home in Nürnberg, Germany too.

Our apartment is located on the 4th floor of an old building, in the former Jewish quarter, at 5 minute walk from the beautiful , world famous synagogue and and 15 minutes walk to the very centre, the Promenade by the Danube river. You step out of the house and surrounded by the culture and buzz of this beautiful capital. This is a quirky neighbourhood, where you will come across bars , tourists , artists alongside Orthodox Jewish families preparing for the Sabbath. Tacky bars coexist with Hungarian design shops, courtyard shabby chic bars with Jewish bakeries and an old Mikveh.

Our apartment ( 74 square meters) has a small master bedroom with double bed, a guest room with single bed and a living room with sofa bed. It is a simple, bright apartment with a basic kitchen to sit down for 3, max 4 people. The apartment is only partly renovated and offers basic comforts ( no tv, no air con, no dishwasher). The apartment is furnished with a mixture of contemporary and antique furniture. It is ideal for people who enjoy living in the middle of the buzz of the big city ( noise at night coming from the street below is to be expected in the summer months) and enjoy discovering historic sights on foot. Design and food Shops, Jewish and Hungarian bakeries and plenty of bars are on your doorsteps.

In 10- 15 minutes walk you are at the Danube promenade, surrounded by restaurants and bars while looking over the Castle district. Discover and enjoy thermal baths and make a day trip with ship to the village of Szentendre with it art shops. Book an evening boat tour and sip champagne while enjoying the sights at night. Shop local specialties and fresh veggies & fruits at the Great Budapest Market in a beautiful art deco building.

Children are welcome but please note the flat is on the 4th floor with only a small lift where a buggy doesn't fit and we do not have any toys or baby chair in the flat. However, Budapest has a lot to offer for children ( we love coming here with our 9 year old son) - there are numerous good playgrounds and events and programs for children round the clock especially in the vacation period. We can recommend places to visit - please just ask.
