About our home

WE PLAN A WINTER HOLIDAY IN BALI FROM 1ST OF DECEMBER 2019 TILL END OF FEBUARY 2020, IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SWAP IN THIS PERIOD, LET’S GET IN TOUCH! :)

Our home is a two storey family house with a garden (terrace, flowers, fruit trees and bio vegetable garden).
Downstaires there are a big, sunny common space (fully eguipped kitchen, dining area and livingroom together) to cook when you don’t want to eat out, relax or play together with the kids. Winter-time we use our fireplace to get a special atmosphere. There are also two bedrooms (one is of our 3years old son’s with a lot of toys, the other has a baby cot next to our bed for our 1year old baby). We have a bathroom with shower and a guest toilet down here, as well.
Upstaires there is bedroom with a working corner, a big bathroom with bath tub and a second livingroom.
Life is very quiet here. Birds chipping, everybody greets the other on the street and all the rural cliches you can think about :)
As we have two small children, the house is equipped with all the necesseries that you can think about for them, you can use everything when you are arriving with yours :)

We live in a lovely, small town on the shore of Lake Balaton (Central Europe’s biggest freshwater lake). If you start walking downwards from our house, you reach the lake in 10minutes. Here you can swim with swams and ducks, use our SUP to paddle in, try wakeboarding and a lot of other things. Winter-time the locals go ice-skateing on the frozen surface.
In the other way (another 10mins) starts the forest. There are a lot of trekking routes amongst the hills of Balaton. These take you into the forest, up to medieval castles and famous vineyards, next to sunflower and poppy fields.
You can visit the biggest bio market of the region in 20mins by car.
Hévíz is 15minutes by car, here you can dip in the largest thermal lake in the world which is available to bath. It’s water is super healing, full of water lilies and always warm, bathing here during autumn or winter is a misty, unique experience. You can enjoy every type of wellness service in the complex, as well.
There are a lot of restaurants in the area, from panoramic wineries to fine-dining and farm-to-table ones, or simple inns with typical hungarian dishes.
Our neighbourhood is very quiet, full of friendly people and a lot of families with small children, who love to play together in the playground 2minutes from us.
The capital, Budapest is 2hours’ drive.
From here you can wander around our most famous national parks or visit several historic sites as day trips.

I love plants and gardening, and usually make chutneys, marmalades and drinks from a lot of things that grows in our vicinity. You are welcome to try these if you stay here. You can help yourself from our spice garden, bio vegetable garden for cooking or fruit trees if its the season for them.
I might ask you to water my plants sometimes if you come for a longer period :)
We have a very friendly cat as well, but if you are allergic or not keen on taking care of him, we can probably send him for a holiday at my mum’s place.
We have two bicycles for adults, a SUP and a surfboard for the lake (we love water sports!) and several other vehicles for the children to choose from :)
We have a car as well that we might consider to swap, depending on circumstances.
