About our home

We have a cosy flat on the second floor of an apartment house, with three rooms (one serves as a dining and living room, too). There are two double sofa beds and a double bed in one room. The flat has a balcony and on the other side, there is a big floor area for the children to play. The flat is bright and quiet, the property is surrounded with a garden with big trees. Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with a tub.
The flat is 10 min walk from Hotel Gellért and the tram leading to the city centre. The Metro line 4 is newly opened. Its two stations are also very near.

More about us

  1. My husband is a telecommunications engineer and I am a teacher. We have seven children and seven grandchildren. The two eldest daughters are teachers, too. They are married and have children. The third one is a doctor, also married with two children. Two sons are engineers and they both work in Budapest. One boy is going to become a mechanic and the smallest daughter (17) goes to a conservatory. Our children all like singing and playing instruments.
We do not any more travel with our adult children, only sometimes we join them to help with their children.

Where is it?

The flat is centrally located in Budapest, but on the hillside with a nice view of the city. All the famous sights of the capital are within easy reach. There is a bus stop near the house, but the trams and buses leading to the centre are 10 minutes walk downhill. There are two swimming-pools near the house, one of them is in the reputable Hotel Gellért, an impressive building by the river Danube. It is the city’s most beautiful thermal spa. The great Market Hall and the downtown shopping area are 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel.
There are a number of museums and galleries worth to see, churches (organ concerts in Matthias Church), theatres, in the summer open air theatres, a zoo and an amusement park, circuses, adventure parks, sports facilities (tennis halls and courts, etc.) and many other places and programs to spend a holiday meaningful.
