Where is it?

Buzzy restaurants
Restaurant Galito is right next door. Nice fusion, family restaurant.
Cozy cafés
Lesbókin Café a few minutes walk away. Great coffee and snacks.
Retail therapy
Some small local shops are nice but if you really want to go shopping Reykjavik´s Kringlan or Smáralind will do the trick. These are big shopping malls with great shops.
Bit of culture
In Akranes you have to visit the lighthouses situated at Breiðin. Hopefully you will met the lighthouse keeper and get a chance to walk the stairs to the to and see the view from there.
Walks in the park
A walk on Akranes long beach (Langisandur) or nice piknick in Garðalundur a local park. For the Hikers a hike up to the top of Akrafjall a mountain at the town entrance.
Day tripping
Trips to Reykjavik. Visit the hot spring Deildartunguhver were you can bathe in the geothermal water
