About our home

Our home is a charming Icelandic house from 1916, that we renovated ourselves in 2015. It has everything you need but it kept its original charm. It is conveniently located in the heart of Akureyri, close to the sea and the mountains. There is a beautiful big garden at the back as well as a hot tub.

The house is around 100m2 and it is divided on three floors, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Downstairs, you will find a large en-suite bedroom with a double bed king size as well as a private entrance. The fully-equipped kitchen and double living room are on the ground floor. Upstairs, you will find a bathroom with a bath tub and two additional bedrooms: one has a double bed and the other two single beds.

The neighbourhood is very quiet yet central, it is only a few minutes walk away from the centre of town. We have a parking space as well as plenty of room to park in front of the house. The house is a street away from the bus stop and the information center Hof. Buses are free in town if you would like to go anywhere, but most attractions in town are within walking distance from our house. Akureyri is also a convenient stop to explore the North of Iceland; the geothermal area Mývatn isn't far as is the Tröllaskagi peninsula.

In the summertime, when the days are endless and the activities numerous. In winter, snow spreads its beauty and you can enjoy skiing -if you're lucky you can see northern lights from our house. The town is fantastic and the nature around it is spectacular. Make sure you have time to enjoy and see it all!
