About our home

Our home is a nice and comfortable renovated 140 fm, four bedroom house in Árbear a nice neighborhood in Reykjavik. We have an open plan kitchen (just renovated) and living room. There is a nice kitchen with all appliances, and a nice bathroom and a small guest toilet as well. Very good laundry room with washer and dryer.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, two other bedroom have double bed. The fourth bedroom has small children's bed (fits a child for up to 5 years old).

There is wireless throughout if you bring your own computer and also a our computer.
We have plenty of computer games. 3 TV's, and DVD and Playstation3. We have a large collection of DVD and VCR movies.

The patio is really nice with table and chairs, sun loungers and a barbecue. It is private and it is nice to eat out on a sunny day.
We live in a nice neighborhood in Reykjavik. 2 minutes to walk to is the historical museum of the city of Reykjavík.

Ten minutes walk to one of Reykjavik a greatest swimming pool, and a short walk to a large green park. Although Reykjavik isn´t really a large city the locals have several sanctuaries from the hustle and bustle and gridlock. The closest thing Reykjavik has resembling the legendary Central Park in New York or the parks of London is the Elliðárdalur valley right in the center of Reykjavik. Our house is 3 minutes walk from this park. There are supermarkets all around. Next to our house there is a bus station.

Reykjavik has the best of both worlds: the qualities of a modern, forward-looking society are complemented by a close connection to beautiful and unspoilt nature in the city's vicinity. The world’s northernmost capital is framed by the majestic Mt. Esja, which keeps a watchful eye on the city, and the blue waters of Faxafloi Bay. On a sunny day, the mystical Snaefellsjokull glacier appears crystal-like and baby-blue on the western horizon, while mountainous moonscapes spread to the southeast.

The population of the city is about 170,000 including its suburbs.
Reykjavik is spread across a peninsula with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean on almost all sides. In the summer, you can sit by the harbour at midnight and watch the sun dip slightly below the horizon before it makes its way up again.

Reykjavik is a great place to visit, whether for a restful relaxation, a spot of unbridled fun or generally to recharge your batteries. Energy, safety, health and wellness. Reykjavik is indeed Europe’s hottest (or is that coolest?) capital.
