Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The cabin is extremely well situated close to many of Iceland's most sought after tourist attractions. A lot of leisure activities also available in the vicinity such as golf courses, outdoor swimming pools, etc. The swimming pool at Minniborg is really nice with a sauna og hot tubs. Fontana at Laugarvatn, Spa & Wellness center built on natural hot springs. Gamla laugin, Secret Lagoon at Flúðir is a must see. One of our favorites. Soak in this broad, calm geothermal pool, mist rising and ringed by natural rocks. The walking trail along the edge of this lovely hot spring passes the local river and a series of sizzling vents and geysers. Surrounding meadows fill with wildflowers in summer. Increasingly popular, the lagoon gets packed with tour bus crowds in mid-afternoon, so come earlier or later.

The cabin is close by the organic greenhouses in Laugaraás and Reykholt where it is possible to purchase fresh salad, berries and vegetables. At Laugarás you can visit the organic farm Engi where they have a maze and a small barefoot garden. Slakki, a petting zoo, is recomanded for all animal lovers where they also have indoor mini golf. In Reykholt we recommend having tomato soup inside the organic greenhouse at Friðheimar. Please note that these places are only open during summer time.
