About our home

We live in a new, large apartment next to a wonderful little lake. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. From the apartment we can hike to the nature reserve of Heiðmörk and we are only about a 15 minutes drive from Downtown Reykjavik. Five minute walk to a Bonus grocery store. 30 minute drive to Keflavik International airport.

More about us

  1. We are in our sixties and love to travel and go on a regular basis to the USA, where we lived for a number of years while studying. We also like to travel in Europe. We have three adult children and seven grandchildren.

  2. Haflidi is a family therapist and a licensed tour guide. Steina is a practical nurse working for the city of Reykjavik in homecare.

  3. We love music, hiking and spending time with family and friends.

Where is it?

Our apartment is in a town in the Greater Reykjavik area. 15 minutes with a car to downtown Reykjavik and 35 minutes driving to Keflavik International airport.
We are within walking distance to major shopping areas and with easy access to the public transport system. Reykjavik is an exciting city with numerous great restaurants, many geothermal public swimming pools, an active music scene and great hiking areas in the mountain regions around the city.

The countryside is filled with exciting places to visit - volcanoes, glaciers, hot springs, fishing villages, farming communities etc.

Visit the Blue Lagoon, drive the Golden Circle, visit Vestmannaeyjar and see the puffins, or take a four wheel jeep into the interior.
