About our home

The house is is located in the beautiful valley of Fossvogur which is one of Reykjavík outdoor paradise and great for outdoor activity. The house is designed by a famous Icelandic architect Manfred Vilhjálmsson which is also the architect of the whole aria. Distance to city center is about 6 kilometers.

Where is it?

My house is located in wonderful Fossvogur Valley, the most prominent outdoor attraction in the area, is a popular recreational area which is frequented by locals and tourists alike. Visitors especially like exploring the many trails that are scattered around the vicinity. The Fossvogur neighborhood is one of the most popular running spots in Reykjavik, where the milder weather finds shelter from the wind, and the paved bike paths seems to stretch out endlessly. From my home are 3 kilometers to the beach in Reykjavík beach in Nauthólsvík and 6 kilometers to down town Reykjavik.

Fossvogur has the mildest weather in the Reykjavík area.

Buzzy restaurants
Eldofninn is the best local restaurant in Fossvogur. I recommend down town Fiskmarkaðurinn, Rok, Spaps, Apótek, Sumac, Jomfrúin, Mathöll Hlemmur and Mathöll Grandi
Cool bars
Kaldi bar, Apotek bar and Grill, Röntken, Kaffibarinn, Kiki bar and Pablo discobar
Cozy cafés
Down town I recommend Cafe Paris, Reykjavik rosters and cafe in our book shops
Retail therapy
Kringlan mall, Smáralind mall or down town Laugarvegur
Bit of culture
Harpa konsert house, museum like Reykjavík art museum and the museum of photography. Museums of Asmundur and Kjarvalsstaðir. Walking tours down town Reykjavik.
Walks in the park
Fossvogsvalley and Elliaðárdalur, Öskjuhlið, Laugardalur
Spot of exercise
Fossvogur, Laugardalur, the swimming pools (the best in Iceland) Vesturbæjarlaug, Sundhöll Reykjavíkur and Laugardalslaug
Day tripping
South cost, Snæfellsnes, Langjökull, Vestmannaeyjar, Fluðir the secret pool
