Situated in a small village of ca 100 permanent inhabitants on the island of Hrísey, ca 25 minute drive north of Akureyri, the largest town of northern Iceland. The island is rached by a ferry which goes every two hourse from 7 in the morning until 23.30 in the everning (21.30 in winters). Despite its small size the village has excellent services, with a shop, two restaurants and a public swiming pool. The island is known for its tranquility and rich bird life. There are plenty od walks a rich cultural life.
The house has two main floors. On the lowe floor there is a large living room and a TV lounge/gaming room with a pool/ping pong table. The living room connects with the spacious and modern kitchen with a small bathroom / washing room and pantry with a back-door. The living room opens on to a balcony with a barbecue and on the south side there is a large deck with garden furniture and an adjacent tree house. On the upper floor there is a small communal area and a balcony with fabulous sea-views and four bedrooms: The master bedroom with a large double bed, two bedrooms with small double beds and a children's bedroom with bunk-beds which can sleep up to seven children.
