We live in a multi apartment building with 7 other apartments. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Master bedroom with an en suite bathroom. There are two other bedrooms and one of them is used as an office for the husband, who runs our two factories, there we have a sleeping couch for 2 people. The other one as an office/study rooms for the wife, that studies law. There we could arrange for a mattress as an extra sleeping for person nr. 5 or 6. The apartment is on the 1st floor and has a balcony. It is a spacious apartment with normal furniture where you can be comfortable and feel at home.
You can have access to a computer and internet and we include our car in the exchange. Our car is a regular 5 door, not with 4wd but we could find a bigger car for you if needed.
We live just outside Keflavik at the former US army base. This used to be a restricted area for the army, but since they left in 2007 it has been rented out for students. This is an all campus area with the remains of an American era :) It is like a small village just a few minutes outside Keflavik and is very peaceful. We are 5 min drive from the international airport but hardly ever hear the planes coming in. There are plenty of playgrounds here for children and there is little traffic.
There are buses that go to Reykjavik several times pr. day. It is about 10 min walk to Keflavik where you have all that you may need in terms of shopping, walking or culture. We are about 15 min drive from the Blue Lagoon and 50km (30min) from Reykjavik.
Here are a few links to look at for information about Iceland and interesting places.
The wife (I), Elsa, is 30 years old and studies law at the Reykjavik University. The husband, Bjarni, is 34 years old and manages our two fish factories that we have close by and has recently begun studying to become a commercial pilot. We are very nice and likeable people. We are quiet, love to travel and experience new things and will take care of your home as if it were our own. We do not have any children or pets and do not smoke.
