About our home

An attractive contemporary mountain view villa in excellent condition, surrounded by nature, within a short distance to the center of Reykjavik and to the national park Thingvellir.

This quiet all year home has the best of both worlds, located approximately 20 minutes from the restaurants and the city action downtown Reykjavík and only minutes from some of the unique national treasures in Iceland.

The property is located in a calm residential area within the town of Mosfellsbaer. This area is surrounded with beautiful mountains and a river that creates an extremely relaxing and unique atmosphere.

Mosfellsbaer town:
Mosfellsbaer is a suburban town of the capital Reykjavik city, and holds approximately 10 thousand inhabitants. The town provides various services such as; public swimming pools, hot tubs, gyms, golf courses, horse rentals, hiking and biking trails that connect to Reykjavik City Center. There are bakeries, supermarkets, farmers market and easy access to healthcare/pharmacies.
Also the largest sport and entertainment complex in the Reykjavik area is located within 7 minutes driving distance, with cinemas, bowling, skating, gym, restaurants etc.
Mosfellsbaer is the hometown of the only Icelandic nobel price winner in literature, Halldor Kiljan Laxness, the band Sigurós, and the uprising band Kaleo. From that fact one could argue that the surroundings in Mosfellsbær stimulates creativity.

This is the perfect spot for the country side atmosphere within the city area.
