About our home
Our lovely home is in the center of Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital. It is on a quiet residential street within walking distance from all the main sights, shopping and restaurants.
Our apartment is on the 3rd floor of a beautiful apartment building. There are two bedrooms (master bedroom and a children’s room), a very large kitchen with brand new appliances and a balcony, living room with large windows and views to the sea and a small bathroom.
We have renovated the apartment to fit our style and way of life and we are really proud of the outcome. We are sure you will feel right at home in our charming downtown Reykjavik apartment.
Reykjavik is the perfect base to explore many of Iceland’s greatest attractions. You can reach many extraordinary attractions in the nature by making day trips from Reykjavik, for example Gullfoss waterfall, Þingvellir national park, Geysir, the Blue Lagoon, Snæfellsnes peninsula, Skógarfoss waterfall and Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Combining a week in Reykjavik with a few nights in the countryside would make up for the ideal Iceland visit. We have traveled and hiked a lot in Iceland and can help you arrange the perfect stay.

We are a married couple in our early 30s with a small baby (6 months old). I work in marketing and PR for the University and my husband is a musician and a music teacher.
We love to travel, both in Iceland and abroad. We have done two successful home exchanges before. Our other interests include hiking, skiing, culture, music and good food in good company :)
We have recently moved back to Iceland after living in the Netherlands for three years. We are therefore not interested in an exchange to NL or Belgium just yet. Perhaps in some years time.
We take a lot of pride in our home and will treat your home with the same respect and care.

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
We live right in the city center but in a quiet residential area 10 – 15 minutes walking from Laugavegur shopping street. Kjarvalsstaðir museum and Perlan are both within 5 minutes from our house. It’s a great location if you want to be close to everything Reykjavik has to offer but still get a good night’s sleep. And that is exactly why we choose to live in this area.
There is a small grocery shop and a bakery in the next street and of course plenty of restaurants and shops in the center itself.
We live close to the seaside and a small forest, so you can experience the calmness of nature within minutes from our house. We live on the 3rd floor with wonderful views, in winter you can gaze at the northern lights and in summer you can watch the sun flirt with the sea at night, as the sun never sets completely. Simply beautiful!
There is excellent public transport from our home.
