About our home

Our home is close to Reykjavík's city center, the house has 2 apartments, we live upstairs, with big balcony where you have sun from the morning until late afternoon. It is a quiet neighborhood, but still very central. On the 1st floor of our apartment we have the kitchen - a small laundry room with washing machine and drier, dining room, living room, small WC, big balcony. Then a few steps up and we have a TV-room, a few steps up and we are on the 2nd floor - where we have 1 big bedroom - queensized bed, 1 bedroom bedsize 1,2 m., 1 bedroom bedsize 1m.

For those that like the country side, they could get a key to our summerhouse on Snaefellsnes, below Snaefellsjokull (the journey to the center of the earth by Jules Verne). It is an old barn that we have changed into a rustic summerhouse with all facilities needed. It's location is ideal to visit the National park on Snaefellsnes, to walk in lava-fields, to take a walk on a glacier, to go whale watching, or just to sit out side on a quiet summer day.
There are direct flights to Reykjavík summer 2015 from Lyon and Paris. (icelandair.is and wowair.is)

More about us

  1. We are a family of 4, Magnús (57)- a photographer and artist, Bjarnveig(47) a computer programmer and analyzer. Our children are: daughter 17 years old, Vala Rún, and a son 8 year old David Steinn.

We have made 2 previous exchanges, both in south of France and love this way of travelling. We find that our guests from France like our very rural summer house on Snaefellsnes even better than our fully equiped house in Reykjavík, understandable as the location is exceptional.

For summer 2015 we would like to exchange homes for 2- 3 weeks, somewhere between 10th june - 05 july , Montpellier, Marseilles or Andorra.
