About our home

The house was build 1958, and the apartment is all renovated and very comfortable. It is a three apartment house and ours is on the second floor, one upstairs and one downstairs.
The apartment is very bright and well furnished. It is an excellent chose for couple with children from 3-12. We have a broadband TV with Spanish, Italian and France channels and of course many more.
We have three childrenâs bicycles and we can arrange big bicycles for the parents.

More about us

We are Gestur and Svanhildur, a married couple with two small children 10-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy. I, Gestur, studied political science and my wife studied to be a teacher. I work for Arion Custody Services hf. but it is a highly technical service company in the financial market. My wife works at television station Channel two. We both enjoy traveling and we do so when there is a chance. We have done one home exchange before and agree on that to do that again. Last year we vent to Denmark. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in Iceland.
We both speak very good English and I speak Spanish as well for I lived in Spain and South America.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Nice and quiet neighborhood near Reykjavik city center. The house was built 1958, and is very well located. There is only 20 minutes walking distance to the swimming pool and to the warmed up beach. 10 minutes walk to a little forest in Reykjavik were you could find rabbits (There are not many wild animals in Iceland). We are in a walking distance from all the best restaurants and art galleries and it is very easy to take the bus wherever you want to go. The mall is only 5 minutes walk from here if you are interested in shopping.
If you are interested in going out from the city it is very easy to find the way out and back home. Only half hour drive to Thingvellir, an outstanding place which you have to visit once you are in Iceland.
