Hi everybody!
We (Þorsteinn & Steinunn) are a married couple from Reykjavík, Iceland who will spend two months in Stockholm from August 9 to October 12 this year. Þorsteinn will be doing a PhD internship at Riksbanken during this time. Steinunn will come along and focus on a part of her studies (of the University of Iceland) while enjoying wonderful Stockholm.
Our first choice is to swap apartments with someone in Stockholm. Although one can’t really be picky when it comes to searching for accommodation we feel that it doesn’t hurt saying that we prefer staying in central Stockholm.
About our home
We live in an old and charming apartment at Ásvallagata 5, 101 Reykjavík, located right in the center of Reykjavík. The house was built in 1928.
In our stairway, there is one apartment in the basement, one on the 1st floor and we live on the 2nd floor. Our main floor is 78 m2 and consists of a kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom, a guestroom and a small corridor in the middle of these rooms. The kitchen, the living room and the guest room were renovated last year. In addition to the main floor we own the attic as well, but the 1st floor has access to some storage space and washing room there. The attic is ca 22 m2 and it consist of a storage space and washing room, one bedroom and a small room that can be used as a guest room or storage space.
Even though our apartment is located in central Reykjavík, our street and the streets nearby are very quiet and family friendly.

In the opposite direction a nice neighborhood with a swimming pool and a local café (also approximately 5 min walk). Right outside the front door is an old and super cozy cemetery, Hólavallakirkjugarður. The trees there are beautiful in the autumn.
