About our home

Tucked away in the fruit growing belt of the Kumaon Hills, in district Nanital, away from the hustle and bustle, lies a dreamy hamlet called Loshegani. It boasts of colourful terraced valley, interspersed with wild oak forests, and a panoramic view of the Himalayas (oct to March). It is in this paradise, perched on a hilltop, at a vantage of 7000ft above sea, with a 360 degree view of the surrounding hills and valleys, stands Villa Loshegani, a home away from home, crafted to help us unwind, bond with nature.

Spread over 2 acres, Villa Loshegani is set amidst a fruit orchard, with more than a 150 fruit trees, mostly apple, interspersed with pears, apricots, peaches and plums. We built Villa Loshegani with of love and care for our personal needs. The architecture is a blend of the traditional Kumaoni style and American Post & Beam houses. Locally available materials and skills were harnessed to build. Large windows and doors flood the interiors with light and allow a great ‘inside-outside’ feel. Sit outs & sun decks adjoin every room. Spectacular views are guaranteed from almost anywhere in the Villa. The villa is rustic in appeal and comfortable - but not equipped with latest urban amenities.

Bed linen and towels are changed once a week. During winter months, we provide oil heaters in all rooms; electric blankets and hot water bottles. Wi fi & Mobile connectivity is decent, but not optimum for professional usage . The house keeper will be at your service through your stay. He cleans the house daily, makes beds, washes dishes and shops. He can also help a bit in the kitchen. Groceries available locally are basic. This is a remote, rural location with little modern aminities. There is no public transport available, so if one needs to move around the area - then its essential to order cabs in advance.

New Delhi is about 350 km from here. You can either take a overnight train / or a day train to reach here. Else the drive up by car is about 10 hours. If you wish to fly in, closest airport is Pantnagar, about 2.5 hrs drive form Loshegani.

This property is not suitable for elderly guests or those with walking disabilities as one has to climb some 100 + steps to reach the villa form the parking. The villa itself is at split/multiple levels.
