We love swapping and really welcome unexpected opportunities to see the world, so we are looking forward to hearing from you.
We live in a large and beautiful villa in Bali. It is of contemporary design, and has many features making it perfect for tropical living. These include a stunning pool, riverside location, and great landscaping features (including a waterfall opening into the living room).
The villa has a variety of entertainment options including pool table, internet, and dvd/tv room. It has several large bedrooms with huge en-suite dressing rooms (we have said it sleeps 6, but if you have more guests and are mature experienced house swappers we can accommodate more). There are several living areas allowing guest separation if desired as well as terraces and balconies.
The house has a maid and gardener and they are included free of charge, although we recommend leaving a small tip if you are happy with them.
We do have pets, including a cat with a crooked tail and a tiny dog called Kuki. You can look after them, especially playing with Kuki, or you can leave that to our staff, it is up to you. And we are about to get some chickens who will live at the top of the property. Our staff will make a complimentary breakfast for you for the first couple of mornings while you settle in. Other services can be negotiated as part of the exchange or at a small price. For example we can organise a cook in the villa to prepare an Indonesian banquet for you, or you could book a day trip to Ubud, and of course you can book a massage in the villa. Matter of fact I may get a massage right now!
Our property has daily housekeeping, and we expect that when we exchange your property also includes a cleaner, especially after we depart to get it looking perfect for your return. We don't expect daily housekeeping. If we do a POINTS exchange we are happy to pay for this service if required. We do of course look after your place and keep it clean and tidy while we are there.
The villa is set in a lovely rural location between the surfing hot spot of Canguu and the beautiful seaside temple at Tanah Lot on Bali's southcoast. The village is called Nyanyi, which is a typical small Balinese village where you will be able to see all of the daily activities of Balinese life and the accompanying seasonal activities. There are rice fields across the river which is lined with tall trees and we get lots of birds and butterflies, geckos, frogs and bats.
Within the village you can eat local for around US$3-5, or we recommend exploring the restaurants of Canggu where the prices will stretch to US$10+ (beach side BBQ at Echo Beach recommended, includes complimentary sunset at 6pm). Learn to cook classes available.
The shopping and nightlife mecca of Seminyak is a 30-40 minute drive, and Ubud approximately 1 hour. Tanah Lot has a spectacular seaside temple which is one of the most photographed locations in Bali.
We run a luxury villa for rent business in Bali, and this property is our family home. We have two smaller villas listed on here which are located in Seminyak. Each has 2 bedrooms and a small pool. We have also listed our large villa in Seminyak (4 bedrooms) but it is only available at short notice (5 weeks away from your arrival) when we may have some nights available between bookings They are part of our business and get heavily booked so it is difficult for us to commit to swapping them. However it may be possible to include a couple of nights as part of the exchange in between the bookings. But it is lucky dip in terms of availability for them. Their listings are below, or look for our website. Alternatively we can give "mates rates" for guests who are house-swapping with us and want to book them.
Generally when we begin looking for an exchange we send out lots of requests to properties in the area that we are interested in. This is due to only receiving a small percentage of replies. And sometimes we are guilty of slow replies ourselves. However we do get a lot of enquiries and try to be as active as possible with answering them all promptly. We also tend to have our holidays scheduled and booked well in advance, usually a year in advance. We do understand that this doesn't suit everyone, but it does work for us.
ABOUT CARS; As part of our business we do have a car and driver available who can be booked on a daily basis, but we do not personally have a car. Our business car is a Hyundai Terios, and can fit 6 people at a pinch + driver. Best if some of the 6 are children sitting in the back seats. It is safer to have a driver than drive yourself in Bali, and the roads here are confusing. The driver also can speak some English so can help you. We are happy to do a car swap with this service in most locations. That is you would get the car and driver for 8 hours per day in exchange for your car. Otherwise taxis are readily available and cheap. We also have 2 motorbikes which could possibly be exchanged if you are experienced and licensed riders (riding/driving without a license voids any insurance you may have).
