About our home

Our home is a small cottage tucked into the coconut groves on the tiny tropical island of Gili Trawangan. The cottage is clean and bright with all the comforts of home including satellite TV, laundry facilities and a shady, large, green garden. It is a family home as I have 2 small children but would be comfortable for adult travelers as well as there are 2 bedrooms each with queen size beds and ensuite bathrooms. The house would come with a cleaner that comes everyday and picks up after you and does your laundry as well as a gardener and handy man. Our cleaner is also a nanny so is always available for child minding should you need her.

More about us

My name is Amy and I have 2 small kids, Mateo and Lula ages 2 and 4. I live with my brother, Chuck, who moved in to give me a hand with the kids and to come live in paradise! I have been living in the Gilis on and off for the last 10yrs working first as a dive instructor and now as the general manager of Trawangan Dive, www.trawangandive.com. My brother manages another resort on the island, Trawangan Oasis, www.trawanganoasis.com When in Canada my brother works in the film industry. We are honest, clean, responsible and respectful. I did a house swap last year that was very successful in Deep Cove and would be happy to provide references. I can help arrange all the travel plans on this end for anyone who might be interested in swapping. This includes helping to gather any information you might need about other exploring you might like to do in Indonesia. Like treks up nearby volcano, Rinjani, booking local cooking classes in Lombok or Bali or reserving you a spot on a diving live aboard to see the world class diving and the dragons of Komodo. All you need to do is ask! My close friends and family all live in North Vancouver so I would also be happy to have you meet and chat with them to get a better feel for what kind of people we are and what life on our little island is like!

Gili Trawangan is one of 3 small coral fringed islands commonly referred to as "The Gilis". The Gilis are located in-between the islands of Bali and Lombok. Easily accessible via fast boats from Bali they are picking up momentum as a tourist hotspot and were named by Lonely Planet as one of the Top 10 Must See Locations of 2011. Gili Trawangan is only 2kms long, there are no cars or motorbikes, only bikes and horse carts. The island boasts clear turquoise tropical waters, white sand beaches and a lively main strip lined with beach bars, BBQ's and dive shops. The main activity is scuba diving however; there are many other activities available as well including golf, horseback riding, trekking and lying on the beach with a book! Our home is only 300m from the beach in the coconut groves. It is quiet, beautiful and very safe. The locals are warm and inviting. Our door is rarely, if ever, locked.
