About our home

Our main home is situated in the capital city of Lombok with easy access to the north and south of Lombok. The house is compact with three bedrooms and a view over a rice paddy. The house will come with the use of a motor car, Toyota Kijiang which seats 6 to 8 persons.
I also have a 16 room hotel and restaurant with a secluded villa bedroom with pool. The one villa bedroom will also be included in this offer for a period of one week. The villa and my home are both serviced and cleaned by a housekeeper/ hotel staff.
I need a home swap in Sydney from 21 December 2017 to 10 January 2018 for 3 adults, 1 child and 2 toddlers.
I don't mind if I have to look after pets.

More about us

  1. I am returning home to Sydney for the Christmas holiday period between 21 December and 10 January 2018, with my 3 children and two nannies.

  2. I live near Mataram which is the campital city in Lombok, Indonesia but I own a 16 room hotel and 1 bedroom villa on the island of Gilli Trawangan which is about 1 hour travelling time from my house in Mataram.

  3. I live in a BTN with other property owners who are from various ethnicities, cultural and religious backgrounds.
    There are 5 street dogs who live in the BTN and are wild but won't bite, two of which are puppies and are fed by my staff.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

I live in BTN which is close to Mataram. Sitiated in a quiet area that over looks a rice paddy from the back of the house and nearby Hindu temples and mosques. The house is very close to the main shopping district in Lombok.

Buzzy restaurants
There are local eateries called warungs that serve a variety of traditional Lombok food or Indonesian. Alternatively, there is KFC, Pizza Hut, McDonalds or other western food in the shopping centres or in the Sengiggi area. There are also seafood BBQ restaurants on the beach as you travel towards Sengiggi that serves a variety of seafood with local traditional sauces at very cheap prices.
Cool bars
Most of the lovely bars can be found in Sengiggi or at the larger hotels where you can enjoy your drinks watching the sunset over the sea.
Cozy cafés
Starbucks, JCO, COffee Bean etc... can be found in the main shopping centres
Retail therapy
Main shopping centres are located in the centre of Mataram but there are traditional markets all over Lombok including weaving and pottery villages. Homewares, art and handicrafts in the Sengiggi area.
Bit of culture
The local Lombok culture is Sasak and you will see traditional weddings on the street as well as Hindu festivals in the Cakra area close to my house. There are local markets at Cakra and Ampenam. I can arrange a day tour of Lombok or the local city with a driver for a day or more at reasonable prices approx $50 a day.
Walks in the park
Primarily walking on the beaches in the Sengiggi area
Spot of exercise
Swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving in Sengiggi and Gilli Trawangan. Surfing primarily in the south of Lombok or Sengiggi
Day tripping
All around the mainland in Lombok, to see the gloripus south of Lombok with pristine beaches and hotels, waterfalls and into the mountain areas. Visit the local Sassak village and traditional weaving and pottery villages. Absorb the breathtaking views of the north of Lombok and visit desserted beaches and Islands on the east of the Island. Day trips for about $50 a day for a car and driver can be arranged in advance.
