“We stayed for two weeks in March 2015 and had a wonderful time. Although only five minutes walk from the busiest part of Sanur, we could hear nothing from the main street bars and restaurants. The garden and swimming pool were just beautiful and it was a delight relaxing there and being pampered by the friendly staff. We will be back if we can persuade Lyn and Scott to exchange again. About our home
Our villa is in one of the most desirable areas of Sanur. If you leave the house and turn right, you are a 2 minute walk from one of Sanur's best golden sand beaches. On the beach, there are free yoga sessions every morning for residents and visitors, and you can rent a beach chair for $5/day. Running along the beach is the seaside promenade, which takes you the 8 km length of Sanur and passes seaside restaurants, shops, and other attractions.
The beach at the end of our road is a culturally important site for Balinese ceremonies, and if you're fortunate you may see a large procession on the street just in front of the villa. It's fine to step outside the gates and watch.
If you leave the house and turn left, you are 2 minutes walk from restaurants, shops, and entertainment. Although it is centrally located, the villa is peaceful and quiet with a large private pool and garden. And if you don’t want to get away from it all, there is satellite TV and wireless internet. Comes complete with two friendly cats.
Upstairs is a bedroom with en suite bath, a study, and a TV room with en suite bath that can be a bedroom. Downstairs is a third bedroom with en suite bath. Also downstairs is the kitchen and dining area that opens on to the pool. The bedrooms and dressing room are the only closed rooms and all have AC. The house isn't child-proof and because of the open staircase and pool isn't suitable for young children.
Dewa, the full time housekeeper, speaks excellent English and will be happy to help make your visit a success.

Lyn's reviews
As a host (4)“We just did a home exchange with Lyn and Scott and swap our home in Prague with their beautiful villa in Sanur in Bali. It was a great exchange one could dream about! The villa is very pleasantly located in a quiet part of Sanur. In few minutes walking (on a paved path lining the beach shore) you can reach beach which we found the nicest and the most quiet in all Sanur (between the hotel Mercur and Magnolia coffee). It was very pleasant that we could use the swimming pool in the nearby resort (ca 30 meters from the villa) and they have a kids playground area here as well! This is a big advantage especially for families with kids, our daughter enjoyed it a lot. The villa is very cosy and enjoys beautiful details - we liked the wooden polish floor and the collection of old bells so much! The upper floor has big open terrace with sea view which catches the breeze from the sea, we really loved this especially in the evenings. The villa is well equipped and super clean. The housekeeper Dewa was a great help for us and our kids felt in love with him. The communication with Lyn and Scot was very pleasant, they are friendly and caring people. They organized everything for our stay very well which made our stay even more comfortable. Thank you very much for that. This was definitely one of our best home exchanges at all!”
“Our holiday in Bali was amazing and one we will never forget. Lyn and Scott's beautiful Bali home and garden made us feel we were in Paradise Top class restaurants were everywhere and we often dined right on the beach. Dewa the house manager looked after us and arranged day trips so we didn't even have to think. Lyn and Scott made us feel welcome from the very beginning. They are such lovely people, friendly and open, and they cared for our home beautifully If you want a holiday of a life time - get in touch with Lyn and Scott. We can certainly recommend it.”
“We recently did a swap with Lyn and Scott, exchanging our home in Margaret river with their lovely villa in Sanur in Bali. The swap was made so easy by two very caring, thoughtful people and their villa is well laid out, equally well equipped and very well located to the centre of Sanur. The highlight without a doubt though is the wonderful service you receive from Dewar, who looks after the house for them. I could not recommend a swap here highly enough and look forward to staying in touch with Lyn, Scott and Dewar. James”
More about us
-
We are Lyn and Scott, both semi-retired conservation and development professionals. We have spent much of the last 30 years working with the World Wildlife Fund in Africa Madagascar, and Asia. A few years ago we decided to slow down and enjoy life where the diving is good and the people are lovely. Bali was an obvious choice.
We've done several house exchanges in Europe, US, Australia and Asia and look forward to continuing our travels through house swaps around the world. For us, it is the best way to travel and really understand other cultures and how people live. We take good care of our house and will always take the same good care of yours.

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
Sanur is an unspoilt town on the coast of Bali. Although there are many restaurants and clubs, the atmosphere is quiet and more laid back than the rest of south Bali. Many water sports are available, including surfing, kite boarding, water skiing and diving. The golden sand beaches and offshore reef provide for excellent swimming.
Within 60 minutes drive is the artist/shopping/yoga haven of Ubud, and a two hour drive will take you to Amed and some of the best snorkeling and diving in the world. Be sure and visit the iconic temple at Ulu Watu, a 45 minute drive, and see the kecak dance as the sun sets over the sea.
